Promoting the Movement
The Consortium exists in part to make study centers, for too long a well-kept secret, better known to a broad, public audience. Toward that end, we offer the following services:
News & Events Email Signup
With over 30 centers and as many partner organizations, how can one possibly keep up with so much news and so many wonderful events? By subscribing to this monthly digest! Periscope, the Consortium’s newsletter, is the single best source for what is happening in study center land. It includes job postings and other news as well as events you can tune into.
Events
Study centers offer events of all sorts, and many of them are open to the public. More and more of them are also available by streaming. Although we can’t possibly list every event at every center, here you will find a healthy sampling of upcoming events offered by member centers on the campuses they serve.Â
Resources
The Consortium creates resources to help students and others navigate contemporary culture. Because popular culture as well as high culture impacts the lives of students, these resources include reviews of film and other media as well as books. Check out this growing collection, which includes material contributed by staff of member centers.
The Raised Hand
Higher education in America, and throughout the West in general, is beset on all sides by challenges ranging from the financial to the structural to the ideational. Colleges and universities need help to fulfill their visions of discovering, integrating and disseminating knowledge in the 21st century. The Raised Hand, a Substack essay service, sponsors essays on higher education, asking questions and providing Christian insight into possible answers to those questions.
Public Speaking
Would you like to hear more about Christian Study Centers live, in person? Whether it’s a public conference or a private venue, Karl Johnson enjoys speaking about the history and mission of the movement, as well as his other areas of expertise and interest. For more information, or to submit a request for a speaker, please read more about our Executive Director via the button below.
