The position is charged with overseeing and growing programs in Christian studies for undergraduates at Duke University. The person in this position thinks strategically about program development, is a skilled project manager, and enjoys leading people on a Christian academic journey. The position manages CCS’s summer programs, including the travel experiences and a faith and work internship program, supports faculty who teach courses with CCS, advises students on course selection and participation in summer programs, and stewards the community of students engaged in the life of CCS, including in extra-curricular groups and cohorts and events at the CCS House. The formation aspects of the role include helping students work out their faith in college academics and their future vocations, helping students make decisions on their academic journey, and connecting students to faculty, academic opportunities, and life at the CCS house. The McDonald Fellow will be a member of the Faculty of Theology & Religion and be attached to the McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics, and Public Life. The appointment is tenable from the point of appointment onwards or as soon as possible thereafter (ideally before September 2025). This is a fixed-term position for four years (renewable for a further year upon review).
