Study of C.S. Lewis’s “Mere Christianity”

August 16, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Are there different dimensions of morality taught in the Bible? What is a virtue? What is a cardinal virtual? What might a full Christian society look like?

C.S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity was published 70 years ago in 1952.  It is one of the most influential Christian books of the last century.

Most of the contents of the book were delivered by Lewis as four different series of broadcast talks on Britain’s BBC from 1941 to 1944.  Lewis’s voice became the second-most recognized voice on the British airwaves during the war, second only to that of Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Lewis’s work continues to be recognized as relevant and insightful as he speaks into our cultural context today.

In Mere Christianity, Lewis guides us through several illuminating principles of Christian morality that help us understand the rich and nuanced fabric of biblical morality.  Join the C.S. Lewis Study Center for a book discussion to discover highly practical truths that lead us to live our Christian lives in more intentional, focused, and personally fruitful ways.
